Head of Finance – Operations

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee accounting records, cash management, supplier payments, customer collections and direct debit processes.
- Coordinate communications with external accountants and ensure that financial operations are reliable, auditable and scalable.
- Contribute to the creation and oversight of the billing process, monitor payments, chase overdue invoices and structure credit risk analysis.
- Take part in the decision to adopt an external billing solution or to improve existing internal systems.
- Build analytical tracking of revenue by customer, activity, contract type and legal entity.
- Produce a consolidated monthly P&L and contribute to the consolidation of 3–4 group companies.
- Manage intercompany flows, internal contracts and related documentation.
- Contribute to tax optimization and ensure alignment between legal, financial and operational structures.
- Centralize customer, supplier and internal contracts, and track key dates, obligations and billing terms.
- Manage HR and administrative topics, including onboarding, offboarding and internal documentation.
- Improve existing workflows and automate repetitive HR and administrative tasks where appropriate.
- Improve Augmented Energy’s semi-automated finance and operations stack.
- Automate manual steps, connect tools together and contribute to building scalable internal processes with the technical team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience in finance, accounting, audit, financial controlling/management control, transaction services, financial leadership, startup operations or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting, treasury management, billing, collections and financial reporting.
- Good understanding of credit risk, customer payment risk and collections processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to build meaningful P&L and revenue tracking.
- Experience with multiple legal entities or intercompany flows.
- A hands-on mindset: you are willing to do the work before automating it.
- Strong interest in automation, tools, workflows and operational efficiency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French; English is also required.
- Knowledge of Pennylane, which we use, would be a strong plus.
- Knowledge of Python, or a strong willingness to learn it, is essential: we use Python rather than Excel as our primary tool.
- Given the profiles already received, we are now only considering candidates with experience in the energy sector and who can work autonomously with AI and a Python data-science environment.
