About the role
- Execute revenue recognition in compliance with US GAAP/ASC 606
- Review project status with account teams and prepare client invoices
- Calculate sales tax and process multi-state sales tax compliance, registrations, and SOVOS filings
- Process revenue recognition entries and reconcile deferred revenue and prepaid expenses balances
- Handle accounts receivable collections
- Perform reconciliations across multiple systems (Dynamics 365, Shopify, CommonSku, Stripe, etc.)
- Provide support for annual external audits, client audits, and internal review requirements
- Analyze financial data on WIP, gross profit, and sales by state
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams and provide accurate financial data as business scales
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years progressive accounting experience (agency/project-based preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, and multi-state sales tax rules
- ERP experience required (Dynamics 365)
- Experience with Shopify, CommonSku, SOVOS, or Power BI a plus
- Experience with reconciliations across multiple systems (Dynamics 365, Shopify, CommonSku, Stripe, etc.)
- Ability to process multi-state sales tax compliance, registrations, and SOVOS filings
- Strong communication skills to explain financial processes clearly to non-accountants
- Attention to detail with the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with auditors and maintaining audit-ready documentation
- Curiosity about new tools (AI, automation) to make work smarter
