About the role

  • Participate in proposal preparation and ensure the machine vision concept meets the client’s process requirements
  • Develop and manage standard products; establish standards and procedures for the development of machine vision systems
  • Capture requirements for vision/optics/control systems and specific design details by creating requirements, design, verification, validation, and calibration specifications
  • Program and configure vision applications using commercial libraries as well as ATS SmartVisionTM
  • Define the optical-mechanical, electrical and software interface requirements of the vision system with the machine
  • Design and architect turnkey solutions for industrial machine vision
  • Conduct laboratory tests and feasibility studies in the in-house machine vision lab
  • Integrate, test, commission and demonstrate capability of vision systems on the machine during integration and acceptance phases in-house and at customer sites (international)

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering/Automation Engineering/Mechanical Engineering, a state-certified technician qualification with a focus on automation, or comparable qualification
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in the design, planning, programming and commissioning of 2D and 3D machine vision systems
  • Solid expertise in the construction and operation of vision systems (cameras, lenses, lighting)
  • Experience with industrial vision libraries (e.g., Cognex In-Sight, Keyence XG-X)
  • Good knowledge of at least one high-level or scripting language (e.g., C, Python)
  • Basic knowledge of deep learning
  • Enthusiasm for technically complex tasks and new technologies
  • Ability to convincingly present and drive ideas and concepts
  • Technical understanding and quick comprehension
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English
  • Willingness to travel
