About the role
- Own end-to-end product design for key workflows across our web-based products (discovery, concepting, detailed design, delivery, iteration)
- Translate complex, data-heavy healthcare and real-world evidence use cases into clear, usable flows and interfaces
- Identify key projects that can be completed by designer contractors; partnering with product managers to guide their work, and review final deliverables prior to engineering implementation
- Partner with product managers to develop materials for usability testing with clinicians and enterprise users; turn findings into design decisions and product improvements
- Partner with data science to design data-dense experiences (dashboards, reports, configuration tools) that communicate methods, uncertainty, and results in ways non-technical users can trust and act on
- Create low- to high-fidelity prototypes to explore ideas quickly and align stakeholders
- Establish and maintain our design system (components, patterns, interaction guidelines) in partnership with engineering and contract designers
- Collaborate closely with product management and engineering to scope work, define requirements, and support high-quality implementation
- Advocate for usability, accessibility, and responsible use of AI throughout the product development process
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product/UX design, including significant time on web-based or SaaS products
- 2+ years of experience working with and reviewing work completed by contract designers
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex, workflow- or data-heavy products (beyond marketing sites or purely visual work)
- Strong interaction design, information architecture, and visual design skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts
- Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma or similar)
- Experience working closely with product managers and engineers in an agile or iterative environment
- Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leaders and domain experts
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and zero to one environments, with a bias toward learning and shipping
- Interest in healthcare, life sciences, and data-driven decision-making; prior experience in healthcare or other regulated domains is a plus but not required
