About the role
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the company’s privacy and data protection program
- Serve as the company’s designated Privacy Officer/DPO
- Develop, maintain, and enforce internal privacy policies, standards, and procedures
- Lead and manage privacy and data protection provisions in vendor, supplier, and customer contracts
- Monitor and assess developments in U.S. state, federal, and relevant international privacy and data protection laws
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on data use and technology initiatives
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of experience in privacy and data protection law
- Strong experience negotiating and drafting privacy-related contractual provisions
- Deep understanding of U.S. privacy laws and regulatory trends
- Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives and provide pragmatic, actionable advice
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
