About the role

  • Manage the Quantum Error Correction Theory team while growing and directing the entire team
  • Architect and develop strategy of error correction on neutral atom quantum computers
  • Day-to-day responsibilities range from project management, fault-tolerance development, budgeting decisions as well as technical mentoring

Requirements

  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Industry experience in Quantum Error Correction Theory
  • Minimum of 2 years in a management role
  • 2+ years managing a team of Quantum Error Correction Theorists, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Temperamentally suited to work at a fast-growing, early-stage startup: self-motivated, humble, driven, collaborative, and has a high tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers
  • Familiarity with Python and Git software version control
  • Experience with quantum compilation
  • Experience with classical optimization including convex optimization and mixed-integer programming
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a changing work environment
  • Ability and passion for hiring the best Quantum Error Correction Theorist from academia and industry
