Lead and mentor a team of 4 to 8 hardware and firmware engineers.
Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
Manage the product roadmap and subsystem delivery schedules for both commercial and research projects.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define feature requirements and roadmaps for quantum controls systems.
Work closely with Atom Computing’s quantum physicists, optical engineers, and hardware engineers to understand use cases and deliver software that addresses the needs.
Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of post-degree experience as a hardware engineer.
2+ years of managing a team of engineers, including hiring, coaching and performance management.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team in delivering on complex hardware projects.
Proficiency with RTL (SystemVerilog preferred, VHDL acceptable)
Expertise in FPGA, microprocessor, and related digital circuit design and functions
Experience with Xilinx Vivado and Zynq SoCs
RF electronics / software-defined radio experience are pluses.
Analog electronics design experience is a plus.

Willingness to learn atomic, optical, laser physics, and quantum mechanics concepts as required to put work in context.
