About the role
- Serve as the primary systems manager for a designated set of platforms
- Responsible for handling needs assessments and cost/benefit analysis
- Align the technology of the company with their business strategies
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements
- Work with vendors to ensure the system solution satisfies the business requirements
- Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users
- Act as technical focal point for the business in the presentation of the new system/application
- Assist with design sessions in prototyping new system or functionality
- Develop and maintain design documentation
- Provide systems analysis expertise focusing on gap identification
- Improve systems and operational workflows
- Help identify control points in new systems designs and workflows
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
- Provide ongoing support structure before an application or system is approved for production readiness
- Perform troubleshooting role in triage mode
- Represent production changes to the Change Control Board
- Actively participate in and lead system and unit testing
Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, engineering, or management information systems or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5+ years related work experience
- Strong IT background with an understanding of banking operations, products, processes and procedures
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Highly self-motivated and directed along with strong critical thinking and engineering/re-engineering skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and work though workflow analysis
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative and customer centric environment.
- Familiarity with corporate security policies and managing user access/profiles.
