About the role
- Responsible for providing independent perspective in underwriting and managing complex Wholesale Banking loans and relationships
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Credit Portfolio Managers, and Team Leader in delivering credit solutions
- Lead client calls for in-depth financial questions and portfolio management
- Indpendently underwrite new and renewal opportunities
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, management competencies, and competitive dynamics
- Prepare financial projections
- Make recommendations regarding credit amount and policy compliance
- Manage assigned portfolio by monitoring performance and trends
- Prioritize new deal and renewal requirements
- Exhibit willingness to lead special projects
- Adhere to bank operations laws and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Seven or more years of experience in a commercial lending environment
- Knowledge across business industries including commercial & industrial operating companies, residential real estate developers and builders, service providers, retail operations, commercial real estate developers and investors, religious organizations and government
- Construction loan underwriting and administration skills if supporting commercial real estate line of business
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, including selling, structuring, negotiating, closing, maintenance, modifications, and problem resolution
- Proficient in Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Proven peer mentor with the ability to partner with and train junior CPM teammates in underwriting skills and vital portfolio management tasks.
