About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyzing malfunctions and determining the necessary repairs for fire and emergency equipment
- Operate and inspect this equipment and evaluate the best course of action to return the apparatus to a safe operating condition
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using their own and company provided specialized tooling
- Repair, rebuild, overhaul, and replace defective assemblies and components such as gauges, air fittings, plumbing lines and valves, hydraulic lines, various pumps, and basic engine components
- Test repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency and safety prior to releasing the apparatus for duty.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diesel mechanic experience, preferably with heavy duty or emergency vehicles
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
