About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect, test, and analyze equipment to identify issues that could impact performance
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative service on SCBA (Scott Air Packs), compressors, purification systems, charge stations, and rescue equipment
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble air packs and related components
- Conduct NFPA testing and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Troubleshoot and repair compressors and purification systems
- Perform system testing, flow testing, and performance evaluations on compressed air systems
- Inspect and analyze equipment installations to identify performance or efficiency issues
- Calibrate rescue equipment to meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Plan routes, schedule service calls, and manage time effectively in a mobile environment
- Build strong customer relationships and promote maintenance programs, upgrades, and replacement parts
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, testing, and repairs
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and industry standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Mechanical or technical service experience, preferably within the fire industry or with compressed air or life-safety equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule or service territory
- Experience using computer programs for scheduling and reporting
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
