About the role
- Collaborate with the Project Engineering Manager to define project objectives, schedules and deliverables
- Assist the manager in supervising all project coordinators (packages, BIM, change management, permits, environmental, etc.)
- Support the project lifecycle by tracking design progress, identifying risks and facilitating technical issue resolution
- Help develop and monitor the project design execution plan, ensuring effective interdisciplinary coordination
- Identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues that could impact project schedules or quality
- Promote and reinforce safety considerations throughout technical delivery and design coordination
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly project reports for the Director of Engineering Management and relevant market or portfolio leads
- Support the engineering team by facilitating the adoption of industry best practices, standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Communicate effectively, provide regular engineering updates, address concerns and manage expectations to foster strong client relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years supporting multidisciplinary teams during planning, design and delivery phases
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, eligible for registration in multiple jurisdictions
- Strong coordination and organizational skills
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources and support on-budget, on-time delivery
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for transportation infrastructure design
- Experience with rail and transit projects, particularly LRT, with knowledge of transportation standards and urban integration (an asset)
- Familiarity with regulatory environments and stakeholder coordination at municipal, provincial and federal levels
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
