About the role

  • Collaborate with the Project Engineering Manager to define project objectives, schedules and deliverables
  • Assist the manager in supervising all project coordinators (packages, BIM, change management, permits, environmental, etc.)
  • Support the project lifecycle by tracking design progress, identifying risks and facilitating technical issue resolution
  • Help develop and monitor the project design execution plan, ensuring effective interdisciplinary coordination
  • Identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues that could impact project schedules or quality
  • Promote and reinforce safety considerations throughout technical delivery and design coordination
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly project reports for the Director of Engineering Management and relevant market or portfolio leads
  • Support the engineering team by facilitating the adoption of industry best practices, standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Communicate effectively, provide regular engineering updates, address concerns and manage expectations to foster strong client relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years supporting multidisciplinary teams during planning, design and delivery phases
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada, eligible for registration in multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources and support on-budget, on-time delivery
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for transportation infrastructure design
  • Experience with rail and transit projects, particularly LRT, with knowledge of transportation standards and urban integration (an asset)
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments and stakeholder coordination at municipal, provincial and federal levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
