About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You will be working with the team on all kinds of challenging design and research projects.
The primary focus of the role will be the technical delivery of a range of pavement engineering design and research related projects.
The role will require the successful applicant to lead projects.
Technical delivery of a variety of consultancy projects and work packages in the field of pavement engineering.
Preparation and review of technical reports and project design packages.
Ensuring project deliverables are prepared on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Enhancing client and industry relationships with both number of public and private stakeholders.
Promote pavement and asset management within AtkinsRéalis.
Developing the talent within the team through coaching and mentoring and supporting their technical career development aspirations.
Complying with and championing company processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to safety, welfare, quality, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in Civil Engineering, or similar disciplines.
Certified Pavement Engineer (preferable).
Extensive knowledge and understanding of pavement design principles (Flexible, Rigid and Composite Pavements).
Extensive knowledge and understanding of earthworks and pavement materials (Concrete, Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Materials).
Experience in the use of UK and/or international standards for the design of pavements for highway, airfield, port, and other applications.
Knowledge of construction techniques and practices for new construction and maintenance works, including recycling.
Experience in specification, execution, analysis, and interpretation of a comprehensive range of geotechnical and pavement investigation and evaluation techniques.
Experience in managing and delivering projects and meeting client expectations.
Ability to work in a client facing environment, with good communication skills.
Ability to work within a team.
