About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You will be working with the team on all kinds of challenging design and research projects.
- The primary focus of the role will be the technical delivery of a range of pavement engineering design and research related projects.
- The role will require the successful applicant to lead projects.
- Technical delivery of a variety of consultancy projects and work packages in the field of pavement engineering.
- Preparation and review of technical reports and project design packages.
- Ensuring project deliverables are prepared on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Enhancing client and industry relationships with both number of public and private stakeholders.
- Promote pavement and asset management within AtkinsRéalis.
- Developing the talent within the team through coaching and mentoring and supporting their technical career development aspirations.
- Complying with and championing company processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to safety, welfare, quality, and environmental requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Civil Engineering, or similar disciplines.
- Certified Pavement Engineer (preferable).
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of pavement design principles (Flexible, Rigid and Composite Pavements).
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of earthworks and pavement materials (Concrete, Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Materials).
- Experience in the use of UK and/or international standards for the design of pavements for highway, airfield, port, and other applications.
- Knowledge of construction techniques and practices for new construction and maintenance works, including recycling.
- Experience in specification, execution, analysis, and interpretation of a comprehensive range of geotechnical and pavement investigation and evaluation techniques.
- Experience in managing and delivering projects and meeting client expectations.
- Ability to work in a client facing environment, with good communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team.
