About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide project management for multidisciplinary bridge projects
- Ensure communication with clients
- Ensure that projects are carried out according to a high quality standard while respecting the schedule and budgets according to the requirements of the contract
- Lead a design team for a variety of projects
- Applying advanced engineering techniques and tools for solution of complex engineering challenges
- Directing, coaching, supporting and guiding employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects
- Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines
- Preparation of proposals and participation in business development including publications and conferences
- Preparing structural designs and evaluations, and contract packages for MTO and other key Clients, including current Ministry policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in Civil Engineering (preferably with a Structural major)
- Registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with PEO
- 15+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; railway structures is an asset
- Experience with reviewing condition survey reports and making recommendations for rehabilitation strategy
- Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) Code
- Demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects with variety of complexity, type of bridge, size and scope
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with 10 years in project management
- Proficient in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, Staad Pro, ETABS, Bentley ProjectWise and Microsoft Office applications
