About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in conducting thorough facility condition assessments, including interior and exterior inspections of client buildings
- Document findings through photographs, sketches, and notes
- Use computer tablets with built-in cameras to document mechanical or electrical equipment
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints
- Help in drafting preliminary reports based on assessment findings
- Identify and report on the operational status and potential defects in building systems
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all site visits
- Occasionally interact with clients to clarify requirements
- Engage in continuous learning about new building technologies
- Assist senior assessors in managing project timelines
- Help coordinate with other team members as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural Engineering or related field
- 5-8+ years of experience
- knowledge of Building Systems, i.e., Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
- strong communication skills
- extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- ability to report to the office 2-3 days per week
- travel 25% domestically each month
- strong process and analytical skills
- preferred experience with AutoCAD or similar software
- preferred experience and/or education in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or Building Science
