About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • perform geometric design for a variety of road and highway infrastructure projects
  • prepare preliminary and detailed design packages for multidisciplinary projects
  • prepare 3D digital models of the proposed design
  • develop cost estimates based on quantity take-offs and unit prices
  • review work and complete quality control procedures
  • lead/support proposals and fee estimates
  • provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians
  • contribute to or prepare project documentation including design briefs, engineering reports, drawings and specifications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with EGBC
  • 7+ years of progressive civil engineering experience in road and highway design
  • experience with CAD/Civil 3D
  • experience with the preparation of design reports and technical notes
  • working knowledge and application of TAC Geometric Design Guidelines, BC MoTT Supplement to TAC and AASHTO design standards
  • willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments within Canada
