About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop track alignment design using Power Rail Track or Open Rail designer, Civil 3D.
- Create models, drawings, plan and profile, cross sections using MicroStation, AutoCAD.
- Develop and check design of plain line and complex track alignment.
- Review designs/drawings produced by junior engineers and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the alignment design meets project requirements.
- Write technical reports and perform necessary calculations with minimal senior guidance.
- Work on new track projects and renewal schemes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Good understanding of International Track Alignment design standards.
- Understanding of Network Rail Standards.
- Proficient in developing track alignment design using Power Rail Track or Open Rail designer, Civil 3D.
- Able to create models, drawings, plan and profile, cross sections using MicroStation, AutoCAD.
- Able to develop design/check plain line, S&C and complex track alignment.
- Able to check the design/drawings produced by juniors and provide comments for improvement.
- Able to understand Multi Discipline interfaces and its impacts to track design.
- Able to work on new track projects, renewal schemes.
- Strong working knowledge in regression analysis through Power Rail Track or Open Rail designer.
- Able to perform calculations, write technical reports accurately under minimum guidance from seniors.
- Knowledge of CAD/ BIM standard.
- Good working knowledge on Microsoft excel, ProjectWise or Autodesk construction cloud.
- An understanding of track construction methods & staging design.
