About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative feedback, translating data into key consenting and environmental themes.
- Create compelling, accessible and visually engaging consultation materials, including public-facing communications, exhibition boards, summaries, and digital content that clearly articulate complex information.
- Support and draft consenting inputs for major infrastructure projects, demonstrating familiarity with relevant legislation (such as DCOs, TWAOs, or DNS).
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating input from project managers, EIA specialists, engineers, legal advisors, and planners to ensure alignment with consenting requirements, programme milestones, and wider project objectives.
- Support projects from end to end, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- More than six years of experience delivering large-scale stakeholder and community engagement programmes for major infrastructure projects, ideally within the UK or similar frameworks.
- Proven expertise in stakeholder engagement on complex, multidisciplinary projects across sectors such as roads, rail, utilities, water, environment, or energy.
- Experience working with statutory consultees, local authorities, community groups, and other affected stakeholders.
- Experience in desk-based community needs assessments and baseline studies.
- Experience in preparing large-scale infrastructure Environmental and Social Management plans.
- Experience in consultation data management, analysis, and visualisation (e.g. consultation dashboards, Power BI, stakeholder metrics, and reporting).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Postgraduate qualification (preferably a master’s) in Public Policy, Environmental Planning, or Environmental Stakeholder Management.
- Strong attention to detail and highly detail-oriented individual.
