About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Independent design of small and medium projects and portions of larger complex projects.
Prepare mechanical specifications, site take-offs, attend & co-ordination of meetings.
Obtain information from equipment suppliers and incorporate in designs and specifications.
Co-ordinate with Utilities and Municipalities regarding incoming services.
Assist in drafting in AutoCAD on as needed basis as well as Revit modelling, independent review of shop drawings.
Provide technical directions to junior designers and CAD operators.
Dealing issues with Contractor’s during construction.

Requirements

What you’ll need

University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology Diploma from a registered college.
Registered as Professional Engineer (P.Eng or CET designation is an asset).
3 to 12 yrs experience in buildings design of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage and Fire Protection.
Working knowledge of all applicable building codes and industry standards.
Extensive computer skills in Word, Excel, Acrobat, AUTOCAD (REVIT and other design tools an asset).
Effective communication and inter-personal skills, ability to work in a team environment & working on multiple projects.
