Senior Project Manager
AtkinsRéalisJoin a fast-paced team as a Senior Project Manager leading highways and structure schemes. Oversee project lifecycle and manage project managers while ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate in the capacity of the Portfolio Manager in their absence
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Portfolio Manager and key stakeholders to ensure full mutual understanding of the projects’ delivery objectives
- Report on and review project performance, and agree solutions to issues
- Maintain compliance with the DBFO contract
- Clarify roles and responsibilities within your team, resolving risks and issues in a timely manner
- Produce timely and accurate reports and create and maintain specified records including change management
- Identify and evaluate emerging risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project
- Where necessary, develop, agree, and implement solutions to overcome these
- Global or master programme maintenance for whole portfolios
- Portfolio income and cost profiles, overseeing and challenging the Project Managers input
- Client liaison on project and portfolio level
- Chair and drive regular project reviews to ensure current and live records
- Manage correspondence and queries through Aconex
- Project change control and reviewing processes and procedure
- Allocation of projects to PMs based on appropriate knowledge, experience, ability, and capability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in the delivery of highways construction & maintenance operations or similar transferable experience
- Project Management skills, preferably supported by recognised PM qualification, PRINCE2, APMP etc
- HNC / HND (or equivalent) in a civil engineering or other construction-based discipline is desirable
- Broad knowledge and understanding of other design areas
- Understanding of Environmental requirements of schemes
- Experience of coordinating interfaces with design teams and external resources
- Understanding of H&S Requirements related to highway construction & maintenance works
- Knowledge of CDM and other H&S legislation
- Competent in exercising the duties under CDM
- Applicable CSCS Card desirable
- Team leadership and management experience in driving performance and productivity
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong customer focus with a service delivery mindset
- Commercial understanding and budgetary control experience
- Understanding of Lean principles.
