About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management
  • Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry
  • Prepare design documents and compile engineering packages
  • Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations
  • Accountable for the delivery of all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets
  • Provide technical instructions to Junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation
  • Review and comment on the work performed by others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation
  • Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question
  • Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University
  • Minimum 8 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings
  • Master’s degree and above is an asset
  • Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada
  • Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
  • 3 to 5 years of site or field experience in Nuclear Power Plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset
  • Experience with static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations
  • Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset
  • Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures, knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset
