Principal Civil Structures Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate or manage a team of Civil Structural engineers for delivery of technical design work
- Responsible for producing and reviewing technical deliverables such as design reports, drawings, calculations
- Provide technical input into project design deliverables for Civil Structural aspects
- Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities
- Provide mentorship to less experienced colleagues
- Work independently with minimal technical guidance
- Provide technical support for bid proposals
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team
Requirements
What you’ll need- A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer
- Proven experience in coordinating or managing a Civil Structural engineering design delivery team
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in reinforced concrete and steel structures
- Practical knowledge of current Eurocodes design codes and standards
- Knowledge of other international design codes such as American codes (beneficial but not required)
- Proficiency in applicable analytical software and tools such as Tekla, Robot, or STAAD
- Experience in nuclear or defence projects (beneficial but not required)
- Experience in dynamic or seismic design (beneficial but not required)
