About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Project Manager and technical leader responsible for delivering ports, marine and waterfront design projects of various sizes and complexities
- Supervise and perform engineering analysis and design
- Lead development of construction plans, specifications and cost estimates
- Act as a responsible charge and engineer of record for contract deliverables
- Perform inspection and condition assessment of ports and waterfront infrastructure
- Conduct data acquisition and analysis, researching alternative design approaches
- Interact with contractors, perform construction administration functions including shop drawing reviews and site visits
- Prepare material for reports and permit applications
- Ensure that all project deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards
- Participate in team growth and development by providing mentorship and technical guidance to technical staff
- Serves as the primary point of contact on assigned projects, interface with clients and stakeholders
- Manage multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with design leads and subconsultants
- Develop and manage project management plans, schedules, and budgets
- Actively manage project risks, budget and schedule and provide routine updates to clients and leadership
- Manage QA/QC processes on project deliverables
- Prepare scopes of work and fee estimates for proposals
- Assist in client relationship management and business development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering (minimum required)
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in deepwater marine and waterfront infrastructure design, preferably with a consulting firm
- At least 3+ years of project management and technical leadership experience
- Demonstrated leadership, and strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly to meet business needs, manage multiple priorities effectively, and adapt rapidly in a fast‑paced work environment
- Experience with waterfront design codes and standards such as UFC, PIANC and ASCE/COPRI
- Experience in design and analysis for waterfront and marine structures, shallow and deep foundation, piles and sheet pile bulkhead
- Experience with mooring and berthing analysis
- P.E. License in Florida is required, or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
