About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare conceptual and detailed design for transmission line projects
- Review transmission line design requirements
- Write route selection reports for lines
- Coordinate work with the internal engineering team and the client
- Calculate loads on structures and prepare design requirement drawings
- Supervise the work of technicians and draftspersons
- Provide construction support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in transmission and distribution line design
- Knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER and PLS-POLE software
- Excellent communication skills in French (written and oral); English as a second language is an asset
