About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification, design, and ageing management for steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry systems
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, including calculations and technical specifications
- Analyze structural systems using industry software such as ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, and SSASI
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, regulations, and company QA programs
- Lead delivery of engineering tasks within budget and schedule
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff and review engineering work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Civil Engineering degree
- 12+ years of structural analysis and design experience in nuclear power plants or industrial facilities
- Master’s degree is an asset
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license recognized in Canada, preferably registered in Ontario
- Strong expertise in static, dynamic, and seismic analysis of structures and foundations
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian and international civil/structural codes, nuclear QA programs, and nuclear safety regulations
- Proven combination of design-office and site experience, including nuclear plant modification processes
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills
