Information Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Undertaking the roles and responsibilities of an Information Manager as described in ISO 19650:2018
- Working with Subject Matter Experts and Discipline leads to establishing cost-effective, practical approaches to integrating BIM throughout delivery
- Support the Project Delivery Manager in the development of appointed supply chain partners by assisting with training and upskilling
- Work with the relevant individuals to establish and support the Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Produce BIM and Information management deliverables (BIM Execution Plan, Responsibility Matrix, Master Information Delivery plan)
- Management of asset information utilising databases and discipline models where applicable
- Interface with all project stakeholders to ensure that data is understood and exchanged effectively
- Interface with supply chain members to ensure all parties work within the CDE
- Provide Information Management technical support and direction to all Project Team members
- Establish and work with a network of Lead Designers, Interface Managers and Task Information Managers to ensure adherence to the BIM requirements of the project
- Encourage the utilisation of 3D content to review, influence and enhance the design
- Develop a Clash Detection Strategy and act as support with Checkers, Reviewers and Approvers in order to gain adoption
- Contribute to the IDC process with stakeholders to ensure a robust review of the design has taken place
- Takes responsibility for the maintenance of the Federated Model and provides strategy and support for Single discipline confederations
- Lead Quality Assurance mandates for graphical output focussing on traceability that could be evidenced if required
- Assist in developing, managing and delivering configuration and training of BIM Authoring and Reviewing tools in line with the expectation of the Client
- Work to maximise the benefits of improved information management in Health and Safety, Sustainability, Operations and Maintenance etc
- Champion BIM on the project and promote, articulate and lead BIM behaviours
- Lead, develop and coach individuals to build high-performing teams and leave a legacy of talent in BIM.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of engineering design, delivery and construction within any primary infrastructure sector, preferably Transportation
- Delivery of BIM and Information Management systems and processes
- Self-motivated and keen to learn across a range of technical subjects and engineering disciplines
- Practical experience delivering 4D/5D models is desirable
- Experience with design authoring tools such as Civil 3D / MicroStation / OpenRoads / Revit is desirable
- Experience with design review tools such as Autodesk Navisworks, Revizto or Bentley iTwin is desirable
- Experience using Bentley ProjectWise or ACC Docs is highly desirable
- Ability to engage with staff at all levels, provide support with BIM-related topics and drive adoption of BIM process to ensure sustainable transformation
- Experience of implementing client asset information requirements on large scale infrastructure projects.
