About the role

  • Lead and coordinate all construction activities
  • Ensure seamless collaboration among AtkinsRéalis teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives
  • Oversee the implementation of all safety programs and ensure full compliance with local and national regulatory codes
  • Establish and manage the construction project organisation
  • Regularly review construction progress, cost performance, and schedule adherence
  • Manage field expenditures and services to ensure all construction operations remain within approved budgets
  • Maintain strong relationships with the client
  • Manage all contractual aspects of the project
  • Monitor technical compliance of site activities
  • Chair weekly construction meetings and support resource prioritisation across teams

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as an IRSE Engineering Manager (Installation)
  • Familiarity in 7.8.110B v3 standards
  • Strong understanding of rail procedures, including Network Rail requirements
  • Proven contract management experience across NEC3 and NEC4 frameworks
  • Demonstrated health & safety competence covering CDM, RAMS, and site assurance
  • Over 10 years’ construction management experience on signalling and multi‑discipline rail projects
  • Experienced in collaborating with multiple rail discipline interfaces
  • Skilled in implementing and managing Working at Height, Confined Space, cable avoidance, ALO, lift planning, isolations, and man–machine interface controls
  • Holds IOSH/CITB safety qualifications such as SMTS/Managing People Safely
  • Competent in safety‑critical roles including PTS, IWA, and COSS
  • Strong communication, leadership, and motivational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Comprehensive knowledge of rail industry rules and regulations (e.g., NR/L2/OHS/019, NR/L2/OHS/044)
