About the role
- Lead and coordinate all construction activities
- Ensure seamless collaboration among AtkinsRéalis teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives
- Oversee the implementation of all safety programs and ensure full compliance with local and national regulatory codes
- Establish and manage the construction project organisation
- Regularly review construction progress, cost performance, and schedule adherence
- Manage field expenditures and services to ensure all construction operations remain within approved budgets
- Maintain strong relationships with the client
- Manage all contractual aspects of the project
- Monitor technical compliance of site activities
- Chair weekly construction meetings and support resource prioritisation across teams
Requirements
- Extensive experience as an IRSE Engineering Manager (Installation)
- Familiarity in 7.8.110B v3 standards
- Strong understanding of rail procedures, including Network Rail requirements
- Proven contract management experience across NEC3 and NEC4 frameworks
- Demonstrated health & safety competence covering CDM, RAMS, and site assurance
- Over 10 years’ construction management experience on signalling and multi‑discipline rail projects
- Experienced in collaborating with multiple rail discipline interfaces
- Skilled in implementing and managing Working at Height, Confined Space, cable avoidance, ALO, lift planning, isolations, and man–machine interface controls
- Holds IOSH/CITB safety qualifications such as SMTS/Managing People Safely
- Competent in safety‑critical roles including PTS, IWA, and COSS
- Strong communication, leadership, and motivational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Comprehensive knowledge of rail industry rules and regulations (e.g., NR/L2/OHS/019, NR/L2/OHS/044)
