Principal Transmission Lines Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Taking ownership of preparing and delivering a full scope of work for transmission and distribution overhead lines
- Identify line corridors, easements and preliminary route alignment
- Develop PLS CADD models for transmission lines
- Perform micro-spotting of towers and determine appropriate foundation and tower types
- Generating bill of materials
- Conducting stringing charts/sag tension calculations
- Developing and maintaining client relationships
- Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals
- Actively participating in design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- CPEng and/or RPEQ desirable
- Proven experience in the design of transmission lines up to 500 kV
- Proficiency in use of overhead line design tools and software like PLS CADD & PLS TOWER
- Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
- Experience working in digital engineering environments and delivering to local technical standards and guidelines
- Commercially minded
