About the role
- Provide professional expertise and support in transportation hydraulics, hydrology and hydraulics modeling, and flood control engineering and design
- Plan and review the production of state and local engineering investigations, drawings and specifications
- Develop plans and design concepts for new projects, weighing alternatives and working with the team and client
- Analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions
- Analyze project dimension and scope, prepare or oversee the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets
- Coordinate work with project managers, task managers and support on drafting, analysis, and design of preliminary and final plans
- Provide quality control and maintain quality standards, check work performed by others
- Provide task management support for projects
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
- four years' experience since B.S. or three years’ experience since M.S.
- Understanding and competency of CADD (Civil3D, ORD)
- Understanding and competency of modeling software such as Stormwise, SWMM, HEC-RAS, etc.
- Understanding and competency of GIS software
- Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic design principles and applications in Southeast regions, preferably in Florida
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local permitting requirements
- Good technical writing, computer and verbal communications skills
- P.E. license is required
