About the role

  • Lead and supervise multi-discipline engineering teams, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop project work plans, engineering execution plans, and discipline-level scope definitions.
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces across mechanical, piping, electrical, civil/structural, I&C, and other technical groups.
  • Support problem resolution for complex engineering challenges, especially within simple cycle and combined cycle power plant systems, including gas turbines, HRSGs, steam cycles, balance of plant systems, and auxiliary systems.
  • Work with Project Management and project controls staff to develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Support a robust change-management program, ensuring scope, hours, and cost impacts are accurately identified and communicated.
  • Monitor engineering progress, productivity, quality control, and document control; implement corrective actions or recovery plans when required.
  • Review project reports, schedules, and cost performance data to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Support the Project Manager during client meetings and technical presentations.
  • May participate in contract negotiations focusing on technical delivery requirements.
  • Monitor and coordinate subconsultants’ performance, technical deliverables, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Facilitate project meetings with clients, permitting agencies, and other external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts, including development of scope, labor estimates, assumptions, and written technical content.
  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities and promote the firm’s technical capabilities to existing and prospective clients.
  • Participate in opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and preparation of qualifications/experience packages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 12 years of engineering experience, including at least two years in a senior technical or leadership role.
  • Significant experience in power plant design, execution, or operations is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and reviewing calculations, P&IDs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Background in industrial facilities or other energy generation systems is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-discipline engineering teams and coordinate complex technical work.
  • Strong understanding of power plant thermodynamics, heat-transfer systems, fluid dynamics, and equipment selection.
  • Familiarity with EPC delivery models, engineering design processes, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to represent the firm to clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
