About the role
- Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors
- Conducts QCAP reviews of less complicated professional services agreements
- Directs project team compliance with contract terms
- Develops, communicates and manages project quality assurance, administrative procedures, communication guidelines, project deliverable formats and specifications, and progress reporting requirements
- Monitors schedules, billings and reports
- Identifies new business opportunities for the firm and coordinates in project presentations
- Maintains frequent contact with clients and regulatory agency personnel
- Supervises other project managers, technical professionals and other design staff
- Conducts project management training workshops
Requirements
- B.S. in a relevant planning, environmental, or resilience-focused discipline
- over 10 years of progressively responsible experience leading complex hazard mitigation, climate resilience, flood risk reduction, and grant development projects
- Extensive experience managing county and statewide resiliency and flood mitigation initiatives
- Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles
- Exceptional technical writing, project management, stakeholder coordination, and communication skills
- Extensive background in federal and state hazard mitigation funding
- Experience includes Benefit-Cost Analyses (BCAs), grant prioritization frameworks, funding strategies, and multi-partner program coordination
- Experience working across diverse geographic and climatic environments
