About the role

  • Execute and steer technical delivery of process safety scope on Net Zero Energy projects
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on design projects
  • Produce or provide input to proposals and coordinate bids
  • Provide quality technical advice to clients and internal teams
  • Oversee and coach junior staff, delegate tasks and check calculations and deliverables
  • Conduct consequence modelling of Major Accident Hazard scenarios and QRAs
  • Prepare Hazardous Area Classification & DSEAR assessments and HSE study reports
  • Lead HAZOP and LOPA workshops, preparing Terms of Reference
  • Prepare philosophy documents or perform detailed calculations depending on project phase
  • Ensure delivery and cost targets are met without compromising quality

Requirements

  • Prior experience in consequence modelling software for Major Accident Hazard scenarios
  • Knowledge of supporting or conducting hazard workshops (HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID)
  • Proven knowledge of legislative requirements associated with major hazards (e.g. COMAH & DSEAR)
  • Ability to prepare proposals, coordinate bids/proposals and win new projects
  • Proven collaboration skills to work within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in consequence modelling, Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs), Hazardous Area Classification & DSEAR assessments
  • Experience preparing HSE study reports (philosophy documents or detailed calculations)
  • Experience leading HAZOP and LOPA workshops, including preparing Terms of Reference
  • Motivated to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality
  • University Degree in an appropriate science, engineering, or equivalent experience and qualification
  • Experience working in highly regulated process and energy related industries
  • Ability to provide a customer-focused service
  • May require security clearance; vetting may require proof of UK residency for 5+ years
