About the role

  • Act as the technical reference/lead for automation projects, in collaboration with internal teams and clients.
  • Participate in the design of control architecture (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and in the selection of instrumentation equipment.
  • Prepare cable schedules and contribute to DCS or PLC I/O lists.
  • Contribute to updating P&IDs and data related to instrumentation and control.
  • Attend client meetings to define instrumentation and control needs and installation requirements.
  • Draft standard specifications for valves and instruments, prepare datasheets, and perform technical evaluations of bids/submissions.
  • Design and prepare plans and specifications for tender packages.
  • Contribute to the development of motor schematic and interconnection standards.
  • Contribute to the development of functional descriptions.
  • Supervise field work and factory acceptance tests (FAT), as well as commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical supervision and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Participate in technical reviews and deliverable audits.
  • Maintain close relationships with clients and contribute to client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Automated Production/Industrial Automation.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in industrial, mining, food processing or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Knowledge of automation platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider).
  • Familiarity with ISA standards, machine safety, and regulated environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Bilingual (French/English).
