About the role

  • Design of foundations, reinforced concrete structures and steel frameworks for aluminum projects, including major equipment, secondary structures, buildings and auxiliary industrial infrastructure.
  • Preparation of engineering reports.
  • Oversight of documents (drawings, quantity takeoffs, material lists, etc.) prepared by technicians.
  • Preparation of tender documents and specifications.
  • Structural inspections of handling equipment.
  • Management of project budgets and allocated resources.
  • Technical support and site verification.
  • Conduct follow-ups with internal and external clients during projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in industrial structural engineering within the aluminum industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; a specialization in structural engineering is an asset.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Familiarity with the National Building Code (NBC), CSA S16 and CSA A23.3 standards.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
  • Experience in the heavy industrial sector and in structural inspection of handling equipment will be considered important assets.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
