About the role

  • Act as the lead structural engineer on hydroelectric projects;
  • Structural design of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and associated structures (concrete and steel);
  • Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and associated structures;
  • Multidisciplinary coordination; assist and lead design meetings;
  • Produce preliminary and detailed engineering, and prepare and/or verify structural calculations and associated calculation notes;
  • Participate in and supervise the production of key technical deliverables, including design reports, structural drawings and technical specifications for tendering and construction;
  • Supervise work and coach junior and intermediate engineers;
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to ensure services meet expectations and to keep them informed of project progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, structural option; Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is an asset;
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in building structural design and hydraulic structures (hydroelectric projects and dams);
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written); bilingualism* is an asset;
  • Availability for site visits and occasional travel.
