About the role
- Technical Leadership of piping teams on large projects or multi-discipline teams on small to mid-size projects
- Delivery of technical solutions to complex problems
- Oversight of production of clear and concise technical reports, calculations and drawings
- Review and verification of technical documentation produced by others
- Regular communication with clients and stakeholders, building and nurturing strong relationships with them
- Production or review of bids and proposals
- Develop capability through mentoring and coaching, development of tools/templates, input into technical community
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Senior technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgement and with extensive experience in using fundamental engineering skills while leading and developing others
- Extensive experience in piping and pressure vessel design and stress analysis
- Experience delivering projects for UK nuclear licensees
- Experience in safety critical piping design (desirable)
- Chartered with a relevant professional institute (desirable)
- Experience in working with design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN 13445 (desirable)
- Experienced in PESR and PSSR compliance (desirable)
- A good understanding of commercial and client management principles (desirable)
