About the role

  • Develop comprehensive strategic plans to support athenahealth's business goals and growth initiatives
  • Day-to-day tactical management of critical CEO/ELT sponsored programs
  • Manage and execute business opportunity analyses, financial modeling, business case development for new product opportunities, investments, and special projects
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making
  • Partner with FP&A and other functions on the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between internal teams and external partners, including private equity sponsors
  • Track and report on key performance indicators related to strategy implementation and business development efforts
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and materials for executive leadership and board meetings
  • Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies to identify strategic risks and opportunities
  • Participate in strategic planning workshops and off-site meetings
  • Help design and refine frameworks for strategic decision-making processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in management consulting, product strategy, corporate strategy, investment banking, or related roles
  • 3+ years of total professional experience demonstrating increasing responsibility and leadership
  • Proven experience managing strategic planning, business case development, or special initiatives in a corporate setting
  • Knowledge of athenahealth products is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of healthcare or healthcare IT industry is a strong plus
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse stakeholder groups
