About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Corporate Development, you will carry design authority and operational responsibility for the financial control function.
Own and continuously improve the control & reconciliation framework across all material financial events, including customer cash flows, trust allocations, redraw processing, GL updates, and inter-entity transfers.
Take ownership of various month-end processes, including manual journals, reconciliation of cash flows, processing of payments, Treasury & Trust accounting, write-offs, and refunds.
Ensure high levels of compliance to applicable accounting standards and tax laws are always maintained.
Assist with tax research & planning and internal advisory, including GST, R&D, FBT, and income tax.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, including ad hoc analysis as required.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CA qualified preferred (Athena is a CA recognised training employer).
4-6 years post-qualification experience in Audit or Risk in a Professional Services Firm.
Be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident when you apply.
