About the role
- Technical oversight of all Azure and GCP IaaS and PaaS environments
- Manage cloud services using cloud management tools and interfaces
- Investigate cloud technical problems and develop recommendations for resolution
- Review vendor-recommended IaaS and PaaS patching, monthly maintenance, and backups
- Ensure monthly costs of all cloud environments do not go over defined usage
- Assist in technical decisions that affect operations or projects and act as escalation point for technical questions
- Escalate concerns regarding operational or project risks and issues to leadership
- Attend root cause analysis meetings after Cloud-related incidents
- Maintain and continue documentation of cloud technical requirements and solutions
- Support initiatives for new or enhanced cloud solutions/projects and translate business requirements into cloud technical requirements
- Contribute to system scope and objectives based on operational or project requirements
- Determine feasibility of internal or external cloud solutions working with Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture Design Authority
- Participate in cloud solution design to ensure completeness of technical scope and implementation
- Keep abreast of new and emerging cloud technologies and service offerings
- Maintain knowledge of cloud monitoring and automation products and support AIOps program development
- Recommend and action opportunities for cost and efficiency savings and assist in reporting on cloud usage, performance, and costs
Requirements
- Post secondary education in information systems or related field
- Azure 104 Certification
- 3+ years’ experience of cloud support experience, with a preference for Azure and/or GCP
- Ability to translate functional processes and technical system requirements to support the successful integration of cloud technology solutions to meet business needs
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and able to use non-technical language to explain technology to non-IT stakeholders
- Maintain knowledge of ATCO cloud IT solutions, service offerings and emerging technologies
- Ability to work in a team environment, build collaborative relationships, and negotiate with stakeholders
- Ability to support 24x7 on call support rotation (approximately once every eight weeks)
- Innovative mindset, with a track record in identifying, proposing, prototyping, documenting, and overseeing execution of cloud technology solutions
- Ability to create reports and integrate when requested (asset)
- Knowledge of OCI (asset)
- Technical experience with Ansible and Terraform for deployment and configuration management (asset)
- Experience with Linux (asset)
- Experience with Dynatrace (asset)
