About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct advanced legal, regulatory, and administrative research.
- Edit, proofread, and format legal documents, reports, and official correspondence.
- Assist with drafting, revising, and maintaining documents related to the New Mexico Administrative Code (NMAC).
- Coordinate and manage special projects from planning through completion.
- Analyze complex issues and recommend solutions.
- Work collaboratively with program staff and information technology personnel on project initiatives.
- Provide program analysis, planning, and consultation services.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with internal staff, external stakeholders, and customers.
- Operate independently while ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
- May assist with deposits and cash transactions, as assigned.
- Support the agency's mission through proactive customer service and professional interactions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Paralegal certificate required.
- Minimum of 3 years of paralegal or comparable professional experience.
- Experience editing and formatting legal, regulatory, or government documents.
- Experience working with or preparing documents for the New Mexico Administrative Code (NMAC ) is highly preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
