About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the customer’s computer data communications systems
- Provide design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks
- Plan and implement network upgrades
- Analyze and organize corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling
- Support installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices
- Respond to and resolve incidents and communicate with the team
- Complete assigned tasks within SLOs/SLAs
- Draft and implement standard network change requests
- Support Tier III network engineers with incident management and projects, including site surveys, TEMS, and coordinating and installing new equipment
- Update topology drawings, maintain accurate asset management records, and conduct inventory
- Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
- Apply Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Foundry OS upgrades
- Perform up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph
- 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education
- Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years, or HS diploma and 10 years
- Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
- Available to travel up to 20% of the time
- Available to work flexible hours, including weekend support
- Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP)
- Layer 2 network experience (configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, thin and thick configs)
- Layer 3 network experience (subnetting; OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)
- Experience with Visio
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and Confluence
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
