About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the customer’s computer data communications systems
  • Provide design specifications, testing, and inspections for computer networks
  • Plan and implement network upgrades
  • Analyze and organize corresponding hardware and software combined solutions through network modeling
  • Support installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices
  • Respond to and resolve incidents and communicate with the team
  • Complete assigned tasks within SLOs/SLAs
  • Draft and implement standard network change requests
  • Support Tier III network engineers with incident management and projects, including site surveys, TEMS, and coordinating and installing new equipment
  • Update topology drawings, maintain accurate asset management records, and conduct inventory
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Apply Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Foundry OS upgrades
  • Perform up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph
  • 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education
  • Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years, or HS diploma and 10 years
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
  • Available to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Available to work flexible hours, including weekend support
  • Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP)
  • Layer 2 network experience (configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, thin and thick configs)
  • Layer 3 network experience (subnetting; OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE)
  • Experience with Visio
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and Confluence
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
