About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with heavy duty power equipment and hand tools in the construction and repair of outside plant cable facilities
  • Perform various types of construction operations requiring heavy physical labor and lifting
  • Load required tools and materials into assigned Company vehicle and drive to work locations
  • Communicate and coordinate with other work groups
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and vehicles
  • Answer customer inquiries about products and work operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • California Class A Driver's License required within the first six months of hire
  • Must pass a Federal DOT Medical Examination
  • Ability to work with heavy duty power equipment and hand tools
  • Must meet specific quality, production and safety standards
  • Ability to understand complex schematic drawings and work orders
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks
  • Must be able to communicate and coordinate with other work groups
