About the role
- Author and update AT&T Practices, engineering standards, and technical guidelines for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems
- Ensure alignment with national codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.), environmental regulations, and internal operational goals
- Collaborate with Network Engineering, Operations, and Real Estate teams to ensure mechanical systems support network resiliency and uptime
- Provide SME input on capital and expense projects involving mechanical systems
- Lead corporate initiatives such as HVAC optimization, energy efficiency programs, and mechanical system lifecycle management
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for mechanical infrastructure
- Review and approve mechanical designs, specifications, and Methods of Procedure (MoPs)
- Conduct root cause analysis on mechanical failures and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure mechanical systems comply with environmental laws and safety regulations
- Support audits and reporting related to mechanical infrastructure
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8–10 years of experience in mechanical systems design, construction, or operations
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
- Expertise in HVAC systems, building automation, and mechanical design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and engineering analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of building codes, mechanical standards, and energy efficiency practices
