About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work independently in the field placing buried service wire using various equipment
Coordinate work activities with customers, local utilities, and government agencies
Provide installation, repairs, maintenance, and reconnections of fiber and copper services
Follow safety practices and delivering the highest levels of service
Manual excavation and repairs to low voltage buried utilities or sprinkler systems
Provide repairs to damaged utilities, and perform periodic maintenance and non-complex repairs to equipment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Desire to work Monday through Friday with a shift length of 8hrs
Ability to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require
Eager to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions
Able to utilize various types of machines and tools
Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds
Use computers including hand-held devices to update work status and check new assignments
Light commercial driver’s license or equivalent required, depending on state law and be able to drive manual shift in some assignments
Attain and maintain a DOT medical card
Complete on-the-job and/or classroom training as required
Demonstrate competency in the training requirements during probationary period to satisfy qualification achievement
Previous operating experience with similar equipment is desirable
Perform the above job duties with or without "reasonable accommodation"
May be required to go out of region/state due to workload and emergency work.
