About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work independently in the field placing buried service wire using various equipment
  • Coordinate work activities with customers, local utilities, and government agencies
  • Provide installation, repairs, maintenance, and reconnections of fiber and copper services
  • Follow safety practices and delivering the highest levels of service
  • Manual excavation and repairs to low voltage buried utilities or sprinkler systems
  • Provide repairs to damaged utilities, and perform periodic maintenance and non-complex repairs to equipment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Desire to work Monday through Friday with a shift length of 8hrs
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require
  • Eager to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions
  • Able to utilize various types of machines and tools
  • Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds
  • Use computers including hand-held devices to update work status and check new assignments
  • Light commercial driver’s license or equivalent required, depending on state law and be able to drive manual shift in some assignments
  • Attain and maintain a DOT medical card
  • Complete on-the-job and/or classroom training as required
  • Demonstrate competency in the training requirements during probationary period to satisfy qualification achievement
  • Previous operating experience with similar equipment is desirable
  • Perform the above job duties with or without "reasonable accommodation"
  • May be required to go out of region/state due to workload and emergency work.
