About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work independently in the field placing buried service wire using a tractor/trencher, plow, boring machine, or other manual tools.
  • Coordinate work activities with customers, local utilities, and government agencies.
  • Provide installation, repairs, maintenance as well as reconnection of fiber and copper services.
  • Follow established safety practices and procedures including the manufacturer's specifications for operation or use of equipment.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Desire to work Monday through Friday with a shift length of 8hrs.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime and holidays as service conditions require.
  • Eager to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Able to utilize various types of machines and tools.
  • Lift and move objects up to 120 pounds.
  • Use computers including hand-held devices to update work status and check new assignments.
  • Light commercial driver’s license or equivalent required.
  • Attain and maintain a DOT medical card.
  • Complete on-the-job and/or classroom training as required.
  • Demonstrate competency in the training requirements during probationary period.
  • Previous operating experience with similar equipment is desirable.
