About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage Service validation and network validation in the Lab and production network
  • Work with external vendors to deliver on project goals
  • Support hiring and onboarding new resources to the team
  • Define strategic direction for lab and production test activities and work closely with product teams to deliver on end solutions
  • Work closely with business partners to identify the requirements, identify synergy and/or gaps, and help business to define feature sets and propose phase approach, as appropriate
  • Provide detailed architecture solution and design relative to business needs and requirements
  • Engage with vendors to secure commitments to requirements, scope, and pricing
  • Coordinate with engineering and development leads to prioritize and schedule
  • Engage with CSO to ensure compliance to FirstNet security requirements
  • Develop test strategy/test cases and coordination of test execution
  • Document device and application environment requirements
  • Support release validation activities including activities related to maintenance release, new device introduction, planning meeting and managing next iteration of solution
  • Lead large teams of diverse technical subject matter experts to design the best solution for service leveraging AT&T existing assets yet meet time to market needs
  • Lead team to consensus for determining a solution when multiple options exist
  • Architect and design next generation 5G platforms and ecosystems
  • Develop cloud architectures and control techniques to ensure low latency, high availability/high performance and quality of experience characteristics
  • Utilize knowledge of area of 5G option 2 SA network elements including: AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, UDM, AUSF, NSSF, NCHF, CBCF, SCP, SEPP, AS, and N3IW
  • Lead the onboarding of 5G elements in public cloud
  • Analyze and research emerging technologies
  • Prepare design and artifact documentation: high-level and low-level designs
  • Prepare detailed reports for management, inter-intra department engineering staff, and vendors
  • Identify trouble resolution actions, instructions or requests for further testing or information
  • Supervises four (4) employees, including two (2) Principal Member of Technical Staff, one (1) Lead Solution Architecture, and one (1) Principal Product Management & Develop

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronic Engineering
  • Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation architecting and designing next generation 5G platforms and ecosystems
  • Developing cloud architectures and control techniques to ensure low latency, high availability/high performance and quality of experience characteristics
  • Utilizing knowledge of area of 5G option 2 SA network elements including: AMF, SMF, UPF, NRF, UDM, AUSF, NSSF, NCHF, CBCF, SCP, SEPP, AS, and N3IW
  • Leading the onboarding of 5G elements in public cloud
