About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage material planning activities to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time customer delivery by collaborating with project managers, purchasing, engineering and external vendors to establish prioritizations of items requested to prevent project bottlenecks
- Oversees demand planning alignment, material availability, and inventory optimization while driving continuous improvement across planning processes and systems
- Partners closely with Property Management, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Program Management to balance cost, service, and operational efficiency
- Maintains Material Management Databases, local procurement funds and operating instructions
- Utilize various mechanized systems to enter, collect and analyze data, generate detailed reports, and create efficiencies in report data to track costs and maintain budget analysis
- Oversee and optimize relationships with external suppliers, carriers and service providers ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations
- Address diverse supply chain problems by evaluating identifiable factors, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Coordinate complex logistics functions, including distribution of IT materials, ensuring minimal risk of loss or quality deterioration
Requirements
What you’ll need- Candidate must have 7 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education
- Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Demonstrated experience with the full life cycle of customer assets
- Demonstrated experience collaborating and coordinating across project teams and components facilitating information sharing, reuse and productivity improvements
- Prior experience in a lead role
- Possess strong communications skills, to include written and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with defense organizational structures, operational processes, or logistics/IT environments
- Experience briefing or supporting senior government leadership
- Experience with SAP asset management and ServiceNow
- Ability to learn tasks quickly with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus in a stressful environment, and be able to adapt to a variety of challenges
