About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide preventative and remedial hardware maintenance to ensure system reliability and availability.
- Deploy, install, and implement hardware solutions in operational environments.
- Analyze documented and derived system requirements to prepare hardware specifications.
- Conduct site surveys to assess technical readiness and infrastructure needs.
- Develop engineering plans and site Technical Design Packages (TDPs).
- Configure and document computers, networking devices, servers, storage systems, and peripheral equipment.
- Prepare site installation documentation, test plans, and test reports.
- Identify system issues, validate root causes, and ensure solutions fully satisfy user and mission requirements.
- Prepare reports and recommendations related to existing and emerging hardware technologies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Five (5) additional years of Systems Administration experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications environments, including CUCM, CMS, UCCX, and Unity.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals; experience with E911 systems and voice teleconferencing technologies is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, decision‑making, and conflict‑resolution skills are required to support complex, mission‑critical environments.
