About the role
- Collaborating with product teams to design, develop, implement, and test technical solutions to ensure all digital products and services meet accessibility compliance requirements for both web and CTX-owned applications.
- Translate compliance regulations into technical solutions.
- Responsible for supporting and improving the processes and tools for accessibility requirements and capable of delivering accessibility training.
- Provides consulting to clarify needs to support delivery of application functionality and capable of testing accessibility for all types of disabilities, including proficient use of assistive technology.
- Support client organizations by consulting on design, development, testing, and monitoring product performance to ensure conformance with accessibility requirements.
- Performs risk assessments and maintenance of documentation related to regulatory compliance and recommends appropriate technical changes.
- Capable of creating accessibility processes and documentation that can be used by a wide variety of product teams from best practices and guidelines to detailed functional and technical requirements.
- Deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise on AT&T and accessible technologies and tools.
- Able to utilize developer-level knowledge of systems and applications to support automation of processes.
- Proficient on FCC, ADA and other government regulations pertaining to disability access.
Requirements
- 8-10 years System Engineering and Accessibility Compliance experience.
- Project management, general compliance and/or privacy experience.
- Skilled in conducting audits to ensure adherence to standards and regulations.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining desktop, mobile, and responsive web applications using Laravel, Node.js, and VueJS frameworks, deployed in Azure container environments.
- Experience with accessibility standards and guidelines (WCAG, WAI-AIRA).
- Proficient with multiple accessibility and assistive technology testing tools such as JAWS, NVDA, AMP, Wave, ZoomText.
- Proficient in mentoring and/or coaching multiple product teams within an agile software development organization.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to present ideas, thoughts, arguments, and technical information clearly.
- Proficient in creating and maintaining best practice documentation across multiple systems and functional areas.
- IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), or other certification is desired.
- Experienced in conducting user testing on applications and websites to assess and improve accessibility.
- Familiar with agile methodologies and experience in contributing to agile teams.
- Strong automation skills utilizing NodeJS and Azure-based features for efficient workflow processes.
- Ability to review and determine defects at the code level and propose accessible code, to help guide developers in the business as they create products and services for our customers.
- Understand technical characteristics of and assist with architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms.
