About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own a defined local geography and create new business with small and mid-sized companies
- Prospect for new business through cold calling, door knocking, email, referrals, networking, and local market research
- Meet business owners and decision-makers and identify their challenges
- Set appointments, qualify prospects, build a pipeline, and advance opportunities through the sales process
- Manage a defined geographic territory, prioritize target accounts, understand local business needs, and execute a market plan
- Position AT&T solutions across wireless, fiber, internet, voice, software-defined networking, and cybersecurity
- Engage small and mid-sized businesses across retail, professional services, healthcare, construction, logistics, hospitality, and local multi-site operations
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal, negotiation, close, implementation handoff, and follow-up
- Record calls, visits, appointments, opportunities, next steps, and forecast updates in CRM accurately
- Balance field customer meetings with collaboration from the assigned office location
- Build customer relationships, consistently close new business, and attain quota
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2–5 years of quota-carrying outside acquisition sales experience is ideal
- Demonstrated success acquiring new business through prospecting, cold calling, referrals, appointment setting, and disciplined follow-up
- Experience using Salesforce
- Comfortable spending significant time in the field visiting businesses and initiating conversations
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect customer needs to AT&T products and solutions
- Ability to handle objections, negotiate, ask for the sale, and advance opportunities toward close
- Self-disciplined ability to manage daily activity, Salesforce updates, pipeline health, and quota expectations
- Ability to collaborate from the assigned office location when not in the field
- Valid driver’s license
